Cherkasy Prepares Land Plot for a New Industrial Park

Cherkasy City Council has taken the first formal step toward creating a new industrial park in the city. At an extraordinary session, deputies approved amendments to the land relations development program, laying the groundwork for preparing a plot for the future site.

What’s confirmed so far — and what’s still ahead

It’s worth distinguishing between the stages of this process. At this point, only the city council’s decision to prepare the land has been made — there’s no information yet about the park being added to Ukraine’s state Register of Industrial Parks. In other words, the project is still at an early, preparatory stage.

The key steps that will determine the park’s future include:

  • defining the boundaries of the land plot;
  • developing the industrial park’s concept (specialization, planned infrastructure);
  • submitting documentation and completing registration with the Ministry of Economy’s Register of Industrial Parks.

Only after registration will the park gain access to state incentives — the tax and customs benefits available to future resident companies.

Cherkasy region keeps expanding its park network

This initiative in the regional capital isn’t an isolated case. Cherkasy region has been steadily building out its industrial park network: the “BIOSENS” park in the Stepankivska community of Cherkasy district (29.7 hectares) was recently added to the state registry, and an industrial agri-eco park is underway in Uman.

If the Cherkasy project reaches registration, it will become another manufacturing site in the regional capital itself — alongside the projects already developing across the wider region.

Why this matters for business

Local authorities expect the new park to attract investors, boost manufacturing, create jobs, and increase revenue for the city budget. For manufacturers considering relocation or a new production site in central Ukraine, another industrial park taking shape in Cherkasy is a potential option worth tracking even at this early concept stage.
